Cowshed Coffee Shop

Centrally located at Gentle Annie is New Zealand’s only coffee shop situated in a once operating milking shed. Facing the sea, surrounded by gardens and grassy play areas, eating is enjoyed either outdoors or indoors in a lovingly restored shed with local timbers and a fish pond set amongst ferns.

Cowshed Coffee Shop Specialties

Delicious coffee and homemade baking is on offer. All baking is lovingly prepared with care in our kitchen. Fresh baking smells intermingle with driftwood smoke to warm the senses and encourage lingering awhile. Enjoy our friendly service, local knowledge and relax.

Pizza bases and toppings are sold separately at the Cowshed building so you can try cooking your own in the wood-fired Pizza Oven. You are also more than welcome to bring your own pizza bases and ingredients with you. It takes approximately two hours to reach cooking temperature, and you are more than welcome to light it at any time.  Collecting driftwood from the beach using the wheelbarrow is much appreciated.

The Cowshed Hours

From the 2nd of June the Cowshed will be open from 9am-11am daily. Longer hours will resume in September.

We will also have basic pizza ingredients for sale for cooking your own pizzas in the wood-fired pizza oven (which you are welcome to light anytime). You are more than welcome to bring your own Pizza ingredients too.
